??1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 : Matching Numbers Aubergine with Black InteriorChassis no. 12597Engine no. 12597This 1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 is a matching numbers car and one of just 809 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2's built. It wears a fantastic color combination Aubergine with Black Leather Interior and is a US delivery car with air conditioning, power windows, and variable ratio power steering. It's been a west coast car most of its life and has been well cared for over the years. It comes accompanied by records dating back to 1976. The car also comes with its original manual, parts books, tool roll with some tools, jack bag with hammer and aftermarket jack, and spare.The car drives fantastic and the motor sounds amazing with great power. The transmission is smooth with good second gear synchro. Brakes stop the car evenly and effectively, the front suspension feels tight, and the car tracks straight. At 58k miles, the engine was removed and rebuilt by G. Westbrook of Atlanta, Ga. At 64k miles, the wheels bearings were replaced and some of the front suspension restored. In 1987 the gearbox was rebuilt. Alternator and power steering belts were replaced in 1997. Front suspension was rebuilt in 1998, at which point new springs and shocks were installed. Distributors were rebuilt by Patrick Ottis in 1999, and a valve adjustment was done at this time as well. The radiator was also recored in 1999. In 2000, the ring and pinion were replaced, and differential rebuilt by Patrick Ottis. At 76k miles, Mr. Ottis performed a compression test which revealed the following results: 180, 175, 155, 180, 175, 175, 180, 185, 185, 175, 185, and 180 lbs. In total, receipts over $40k. The car currently has 85k miles.The body is straight overall but the new owner might consider repainting the car as there are several small rock chips from it being driven and enjoyed. The car wears nice chrome and Borrani wire wheels with Pirelli P400 tires. The interior is very nice with original leather and the front and rear seats are good considering their age and mileage. The headliner, dash wood, factory wood wheel, and original gauges and switches are in very nice condition as well.The 365 GT 2+2 was introduced at the Paris Salon in 1967, and it was the largest and most luxurious Ferrari model to date, carrying forward the growing demand for high-speed transport with accommodation for up to four passengers.
