Vehicle Description
This is an absolutely gorgeous XJ6 Jaguar sedan out-fitted in
Maraschino black (solid black) with Mulberry (burgundy)
hide-leather interior and coordinating burgundy carpets. The car is
finished with a subtle deep burgundy fine-line on the body
waist-line. The overall combination presents very elegantly and is
quite stunning. This is a genuine 1 owner example with a wonderful
43,000 original low miles. Delivered in Illinois in the fall of
1985, the car was owned by a mature lady who rarely drove it. By
her elderly age in 2004, the car was put away in climate control
storage and travelled less than 1,000 miles in the subsequent 13
years. The car was never driven in inclement weather (being a rear
wheel drive) and so is rust and scale free. The car was purchased
from the family's estate. The body on this car is straight and the
paint is in very good condition sporting mostly original paint. It
does have some very minor little marks here and there in line with
that expected from a low mileage example that has been well
maintained and regularly cleaned and polished. The paint is
consistent and lustrous. There is no rust and the underside is very
clean and dry. The interior of the car is in stunning condition
with excellent hide leather upholstery finished in the rich
Burgundy leather. All the wood on the dash, doors and console is
original and in very good condition. There are a couple of minor
hairline fractures but this is not glaringly obvious and certainly
less than typical examples. The wood and lacquer finish is shiny
and the wood presents rich in grain - it presents in "excellent"
condition and I would rate it a 9 out of 10.. The is no sagging or
marks in the headlining. It presents in original appearance and the
carpet is excellent. The deep grain and glossy finish of the rich
grained wood in this example contrasts beautifully with the rich
Mulberry Connolly hides. All interior chrome finishes are almost
perfect. The dash and rear parcel shelf is without any cracks or
sun damage. Overall it is like that of a 5+ year old well looked
after Jaguar and smells like it too. All interior features &
functions are fully operational including electrics - windows,
gauges, lights etc. The A/C blows icy cold. Everything is also
clean and crisp. It still has its original stereo system fitted.
The exterior chrome, stainless steel and bright work finishes are
all good without any pitting & the rubber around the car is very
fine. Mechanically, the car is in superior condition and the
original presentation under the bonnet clearly shows that. Its
pretty much immaculate! The car was recently put thru the Park-Ward
workshop. A full safety inspection carried out with anything
needing doing, attended to. Some of the work included; a full tune
up with new wires, rotor, cap, & spark plugs. Rocker cover gaskets
replaced, oil change & filter, new factory shock bushings in the
front and steering rack bushings. The gas tank has is in
single-mode and performs well. Operational items such as windows,
mirrors, AC, heater, lights etc were serviced as required. Exhaust
is good with the correct original stainless exhaust tips fitted.
The has a set of period correct Michelin MX4 215/70-15 whitewall
tires (with good tread). The spare tyre is the factory original
Pirellii P5 which has NEVER been used. This is a 10 out of 10
driver example that needs nothing else doing. It makes for a
gorgeous "weekender" that you could also take to your next Jaguar
meet with pride and joy. Park-Ward Motors is America's leading
classic Rolls-Royce restorer & seller world-wide. As was the
