Vehicle Description
Sporting a nice, two-tone paint job, a solid drivetrain and a
number of great touches to refresh its look both inside and out,
this 1970 Ford F-250 Camper Special stands ready, willing and able
to begin its next chapter of service, whether that encompasses
daily nostalgia-infused journeys to a worksite with equipment
stowed in back, or performing as a trusty workhorse to bear
supplies for your weekend projects.
More than 45 years have gone by since this truck first saw the
light of day, but a quick lap around will provide ample proof that
it's still has plenty of life yet to enjoy. It's received some
well-planned attention along the way - a nice red and white 2-tone
paint scheme replaces its original lime shade and carries a strong
clearcoat on top, a recently-installed seal frames the windshield
up front in a deep black hue, and a sliding rear window sits fully
functional in back. Beyond question, this Ford has aged
exceptionally. The bumpers in both front and back and those long
stretches of chrome trim on the sides remain straight and level,
the gaps between body panels are nice and even, and the
fresh-looking raised Ford lettering on the tailgate looms over a
new rubber guard in back to reinforce the notion that this
venerable pickup is all ready to hit the road and get things
done.
Climb inside and you'll find a very nice red and white two-tone
interior that's without a doubt the aesthetic superior to the green
counterpart it's replaced. Well-padded and showing very little
wear, the bench seat is plenty comfortable, even for long
excursions, and the door panels, which also carry the red and white
pattern of the exterior, are grime free and sit flush inside their
shells. Overhead, you'll find that the headliner matches the color
pattern and texture of the bench seat, a really nice touch. Just in
front of the stock steering wheel sitting on a new, black column,
the dash area also remains in its original configuration and is
crowned by a fresh black dash pad. This truck came equipped with
air conditioning, and it continues to blow strong and cold to keep
you and your occupants nice and comfortable. The bed in back shows
no major dents and has been treated with a thick coat of liner to
make it well up to the task of standing up to any cargo you may
wish to carry.
Very much in the spirit of an exceedingly capable but no-nonsense
pickup like this one, everything remains stock underneath the hood.
The original 360 cubic inch V8 sits inside, running with the
smoothness and reliability that will convince you this truck is up
to the task of being driven as often as you'd like. It's outfitted
with the features that will allow you to navigate with confidence,
including power steering and power brakes. Looking to take a nice,
long trip? You won't likely have to stop very often on the way to
your destination, as this F-250 is carrying not only its standard
fuel tank, but also an auxiliary 25-gallon tank that sits right
next to it. And, with posi-traction in back, you'll be armed to
deal with any uneven roads you might encounter along the way. This
workhorse sits on a set of stock 16" Ford truck rims outfitted with
Nexen Roadian HTX tires.
