Vehicle Description
1963-1965 Riviera met with the approval of Jaguar founder and
designer Sir William Lyons, who said that Bill Mitchell had done 'a
very wonderful job.' In addition, Sergio Pininfarina declared it
'one of the most beautiful American cars ever built; it has marked
a very impressive return to simplicity of American car design.'
Designer, Raymond Loewy said the Riviera was 'the handsomest
American production car-apart from his Avanti.' The
first-generation Riviera is considered a styling landmark, and is
quite collectible today. Styling changes for 1965 included the
hidden headlamps per the original design. The scoops located behind
the doors and rear wheel arches were removed. The scoops had been
for visual purposes only and did not provide any functionality so
the removal did not pose any threats to overheating. The taillights
were now incorporated into the bumper rather than the body. Tilt
steering wheel was now standard and a black vinyl roof was added to
the list of options. Our 1965 Riviera is as Classy, Muscular, and
Desirable as is Well Built and Solid. A slight Custom with
Performance and Styling Mods such as Paint and Wheels, this Riviera
looks Amazing and drives Great! What a Car! Plenty to fall in love
