Vehicle Description
1958 XK150 S LHD 3.4 Roadster
This remarkable XK150 is a highly desirable 3.4 S Roadster and is
likely to be one of the most original surviving examples.
Constructed in 1958, this XK150 was one of 846 3.4 S Roadsters
built in LHD and was exported to the United States and delivered to
its first owner, a Mr Harold Sunshine of Patterson, New Jersey. Mr
Sunshine, the owner of a textile design company and a keen Jaguar
enthusiast, retained the car for 11 years before selling it to its
second owner, a Mr Anthony R Conigliaro of Brooklyn, New York, in
1969. Mr Conigliaro was another sports car fan and the proprietor
of Maranello Garages Inc. which focused on the repair of Ferrari's,
Jaguars and other European cars. After only one year's use and with
just over 21,000 miles on the odometer, the XK150 was put into dry
storage on blocks, where it remained for almost 45 years until it
was repatriated in 2015 to only its third owner. On its return to
the UK the car's incredibly low mileage and wonderfully preserved
original condition were immediately evident and a testament to the
car's limited number of owners and extended period of storage.
With factory original engine and gearbox, original paint and
wonderfully patinated interior and accompanied by a correct set of
tools and delivery literature this XK150 would be an excellent
candidate for a sensitive preservation-class recommissioning.
Alternatively the car would provide an excellent basis for a full
chassis off concours winning restoration.
