Vehicle Description
This El Camino represents a 2-year ground-up build on a Fremont, CA
built, rust-free classic. The body was placed on a rotisserie then
media blasted revealing no rust. All surfaces were treated with
sealers and primers, professionally painted in a high-tech booth
using high grade PPG single-stage Torch Red paint to match the
original finish applied in 1969. This El Camino features a
date-correct 396/350hp engine that was built using a competition
camshaft and new upgraded valves for using unleaded fuels. A 700R4
was professionally built with shift improvers and a high torque
converter, and a new 1350 series balanced driveline was installed.
A date-correct 12-bolt GM posi-traction differential was built and
installed with upgraded axles. The stock front and rear suspensions
were rebuilt with new bushings, shocks and all of the front
suspension components were specially engineered with front and rear
springs for lowering and handling along with dropped spindles with
correct steering geometry. 4-wheel disc brakes were installed with
upgraded rotors and an emergency brake was added for safe
operation. A new booster and master cylinder were designed for this
application. It rides on Boss wheels with 40 series performance
radials. The interior was entirely replaced with PUI upgraded
materials and a one-piece velour headliner. Dynamat Extreme was
applied to all interior surfaces before the carpet was laid. It
features a stock 4-speed console with a Lokar cable shifter, custom
Autosound radio and speakers, and a Viper security system that has
GPS Tracking monitored by your phone. The stock, unmolested wire
harness was used and is still pliable. This beautiful build rides
so very smooth and is a true solid build that is a true pleasure to
drive.
