Vehicle Description
Over a 30 year period, the previous owner began collecting every
NOS part, piece and component that would be needed to do a complete
restoration on a 1970 LS6 convertible. This beautiful 1970 Chevelle
LS6 convertible re-creation underwent a three-year meticulous
frame-off, nut-and-bolt, rotisserie restoration and was completed
with all of the very rare, hard to find vintage LS6 components
collected by the previous owner. The complete body and chassis were
disassembled and media blasted in pieces. Using GM NOS fenders,
hood and quarter panels the body was finished in the correct PPG
base coat/clear coat Fathom Blue complete with a white top, white
stripes, and Pearl White interior. This Chevelle re-creation is
powered by a vintage LS6 454ci block engine with 4-bolt mains that
was bored 30 over and pre-dates the body by four weeks. It was
balance and blueprinted for assembly. The block pad was broach
marked and stamped and the cylinder heads are Vintage LS6 square
port predating the body by three weeks. Backing the engine is an
M-22 4-speed manual transmission that pre-dates the body by eight
weeks and is shifted with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter. A 373
rear gear ratio was used for drivability and the carrier housing is
dated three months before the body. It features Gardner exhaust
with proper crimps and resonators as well as GM NOS exhaust tips
and tail pipe clamp and hanger.
