Vehicle Description
This red, rare German 280SL Euro-spec model originally sold in the
German market. A 2-door convertible body type, it has a standard
soft-top and optional hardtop. It is also equipped with rear-wheel
drive and automatic 4-speed gearbox transferring the power to the
wheels, with advertised 174hp. The 6-cylinder
double-overhead-camshaft naturally aspirated engine has two valves
per cylinder and a capacity of 2.7 liters. The 280SL belongs to the
R107 model family from Mercedes-Benz; with a convertible/cabriolet
type body styled by Friedrich Geiger, and a front-positioned
engine. The present owner has done much improving, including a
fresh repaint of the original color. Documentation includes the
German Mercedes-Benz manual, Blaupunkt radio manual, schematic,
German service centers and "assistance for foreign damage"
brochure, wheel-dial style journey calculator and German post card.
