1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in Mount Dora (Orlando), Florida

Vehicle Description

1969 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM RAM AIR III

This would be One of those Pivotal Collector Cars that seldom surface in the marketplace, especially in this condition. This due to the fact so few were ordered new. It was costly $4,405 ($28,244.50 in today's inflated money @572.1%). But, you knew when you left the showroom it was unlikely you would see another one on the highway. The myriad of 'expert' Pontiac Stat books are in disagreement but, we can say for certain 520 to 634 Ram Air III's with "option #322" were sold with a Synchromesh transmission (incredibly, that includes 3 Speeds !), 55 Ram Air IV's and 8 Convertibles, for GM exec's [7 still exist] , were built in 1969..... So, this Muscle Car is in Limited Company*. It IS a VIN proven Original '69 TransAm Firebird with matching Build Sheet loaded with great options. It still has the 2nd Owner's original Title / Registration and a boatload of Documentation. You could spend hours reading the Invoices dating back to 1970, Showroom Brochures, Magazine Articles, Photographs, 69 Pontiac Firebird Assembly & Service Manual, Early Facts & Figures Articles, and Service & Repair Invoices for the life of the car, enough material to enlighten anyone to the fact the Pontiac TransAm was the Beginning of a Performance Legacy that's now a part of American Automobile History. The Build Sheet shows you 'what you see is what you get' from the M-20 4-Speed Transmission (code 354), to optional 'Stacked' Gauges (code 444), the $1072.14 "Trans Am" Option (Option 322 RAIII), 400 c.i./335hp V8 "WQ" stamped block, Under Hood Lamp (671), Push-button Radio (382), Optional 'Rally Wheels' (354), Floor Mats (631), n/c PosiTraction (083) and 'D-80' Rear Spoiler (of course). This Norwood Built Pontiac (492 'WQ' codes built there) listed for $4405.44 and cost the dealer (Lombardo Pontiac/ Wlloughby, Ohio) $3,575. It was built Oct. / 4th week and has it's original Protect-o-Plate, Manual & enclosures. This is a painstaking, Frame-Off restoration that carries several binders of receipts, as well. The 3rd, caring owner not only stored the car in Air Conditioned Storage for the last 15 years but, kept the car 'updated' with original/correct items and improvements (like the muffler system/Ram Air Cleaner foam) through 2016 and today. It is finished in the traditional Cameo White (50/50)[ Camaro called it Dover White] with Tyrol Blue Stripes and Dark Blue Interior (code 200 Stand.). BTW: We can handle transport anywhere. Priced to sell: It can sit in your garage current 2017 NADA Collectible Book 'Base' Value at $145,000. See it at www.classicdreamcars.com, scroll to "Inventory". Unique, Documented Classics
