Vehicle Description
This iconic Willys is the result of a Rod and Custom magazine
project that has many documented publications. Custom-built by
Warren Boughn and Precision Street Rods & Machines, this car was
engineered with many NHRA drag racing features; however, it is
completely street legal. Due to its well-engineered EFI front
suspension and custom-built 4-link rear suspension, it drives,
handles and stops like a dream. The body and custom frame are by
Outlaw Performance. The one-off Hilborn induction system was
created from a joint effort by Hilborn, BDS and Craig Railshaek.
AEM Infinity components control the EFI ignition, this Hilborn/AEM
combination gives the Willys the gasser/dragster look with the
reliability and performance of EFI. The monster 426ci HEMI with the
BDS 8-71 supercharger was built by Dick Landy and is accompanied by
a polished 727 B&M automatic transmission with a full manual
valve body. The one-off quick-change rear end with ribbed hubs is
by Halibrand, as are the unique Halibrand Sprint wheels. The
drivetrain components have been smoothed out and painted to match
the body color. Baer NASCAR Series brakes on all corners, giving
optimum stopping power, and are fully polished and chromed. All
plumbing is stainless steel with aircraft AN fittings, including
the coolant system. The top-notch interior boosts an all
Rolls-Royce, Magnolia Connolly leather with baseball hand-stitched
roll-bar tubes by Victor Zuniga. The paintwork is House of Kolors
Candy Brandywyne, painted by the legendary Gary Baca. This is a
multiple show-winning car and comes with all documentation. This is
a car built with the best of the best and was formerly part of the
Ron Pratte Collection.
