Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this 1962 Chevy II Nova
custom resto-mod.
Sorry Ford fans, but the Chevy II Nova is everything Ford hoped the
Falcon would be; stylish, fast and most of all - cool.
From the beginning; Chevy's compact was embraced for its
combination of timeless styling and the ability to put big
horsepower in a lightweight package, and this 1962 coupe is a
fantastic example of how the Nova got it right.
Restored and upgraded just a couple years back; this one still
looks awesome, and the show quality paint looks simply remarkable.
The metallic Silver / Grey over Pearl separated by custom Red pin
striping always looks right on '60s muscle regardless of whether
it's a Camaro or a Nova, and it happens to be the right color for
this car.
You can't paint a car this color and not back it up with some
serious horse power under the hood. In the lightweight compact
Nova, you don't need a massive chunk of cast iron to make for
entertaining performance, and as a result; the 406 Stroker small
block provides exhilarating acceleration while maintaining some
pretty impressive street manners. The detailed motor looks tidy
sitting there in the color-matched background, and gives it a
highly detailed look. The TH350 is new and feeds the posi rear
end with 4:10 gears. A recent dual exhaust system sounds great and
the highly detailed undercarriage still shows quite well.
The perfectly shaped sheet metal will never go out of style, and
the workmanship performed during the restoration is very well done;
letting the basic design speak for itself. Any trim left on the car
has been newly plated, polished, or replaced to give this Nova a
bright new look.
With the color scheme, the only smart choice is a black interior
which backs up the Nova's aggressive looks. The rear bench features
factory-style upholstery, which looks completely unused and new.
Base Nova's didn't come stock with an upgraded gauge package, so
this vehicle has been outfitted with a set of aftermarket auxiliary
gauges mounted under the dash along with an oversized tachometer on
the column. There aren't many other deviations from stock,
excluding a new grant steering wheel, AM/FM radio, and Hurst
Pro-Matic II shifter. In back, the trunk offers a fresh coat of
gray spatter.
So go ahead and drool; this ultra-clean Nova proves that good
things definitely come in small packages.
