Vehicle Description
Any Mustang with the Shelby name attached to it is bound to be
extraordinary, but some are more special than others. Only 1 of 100
ever built, this 2008 Shelby Mustang GT Barrett-Jackson edition is
an exceptionally rare breed that packs a 319 hp punch underneath
its special unique color combo.
You probably have heard of the 2007-08 Shelby GTs. But the GT
Barrett-Jackson cars were not only created to help Carroll Shelby's
charity, but they received an exclusive black with full red stripe
package to match B-J's famous color scheme. Even the Bullitt-style
18-inch wheels were blacked out. If that sounds pretty special to
you, then you'd be just like the solitary owner who only let it out
of the garage for a scant 6,270 miles. That's why this collectable
appears like new. The Shelby GT package added a deeper front air
dam, a special billet grille with offset Mustang emblem, hood pins,
and a hood scoop. Out back, you get big SHELBY block letters as
well as a diffuser panel under the bumper and twin exhaust tips
that shine brightly. And just in case people have not already
picked up on how extra-special this one is, the exclusive
Barrett-Jackson badge on the rear will clue them in.
The interior is the well presented Mustang you've grown to know and
love, with black leather being the dominant theme. Sculpted buckets
are all-day comfortable; the instrument panel is equal parts retro
and state-of-the-art; and the packaging job on the airbag steering
wheel is nothing short of miraculous. As a Shelby, you get a signed
and numbered plaque on the dash, as well as a Hurst cue ball
shifter for the five-speed manual transmission. Plus, as an
exclusive Barrett-Jackson edition, the sun visors are autographed
by Craig Jackson and Steve Davis the CEO and the president
(respectively) of B-J. And more than just highly collectable, this
one is desirable, because you get a loaded Mustang. The equipment
list includes air conditioning, cruise control, power windows,
power locks, keyless entry, dual front airbags, side airbags, and
power driver's seat. Plus, the radio has been upgraded to a Kenwood
unit with AM/FM/CD/XM stereo that features all the best modern
conveniences, including satellite navigation and Bluetooth.
Ford's 4.6-liter V8 was given some nice upgrades for duty in the
Shelby GT. This original numbers-matching powerplant came with a
cold air induction system and the Ford Racing Power Upgrade
Package, which ups output to 319 horsepower and 330 pounds of
torque. There's also a strut tower brace that really makes a
statement in the tidy engine bay and provides yet another reminder
that this is no garden-variety Mustang. Underneath there's an
X-pipe exhaust system that gives the Shelby a distinctive sound.
While you're looking at the undercarriage, marvel at how little
this has this has been driven so that even the factory stickers are
on many components. This car features Ford's Racing Handling Pack,
which includes specially tuned shocks and struts, lowering springs,
oversized sway bars, and a 3.55 limited slip rear end. Add in power
steering, four-wheel disc brakes, ABS, and sticky BF Goodrich
gForce radials on 18-inch premium wheels, and now you've got a
truly special package that's a blast to drive.
A Shelby is a classic from day one, and that's why this one has
been kept so well with documentation that includes the original
bill of sale, owner's manual, window sticker, and a host of
memorabilia. Yes, this car is as special as you think it is, and
the fact that most people don't even know it exists just means this
black and red Shelby will be grabbing attention for decades to
come. These are a rare sight so call today or regret it
tomorrow!
