Vehicle Description
One of 343 Heritage Editions produced and one of only 2,011 GTs
produced in 2006. This GT is finished in Heritage Blue with Orange
Le Mans stripes and displays Number 6 in honor of one of the trio
of GT40 cars that bested Ferrari and swept the podium at the 24
Hours of Le Mans race in 1969. Powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter
V8, it puts out 550hp and is backed by a 6-speed manual
transmission. It has all four GT options, including BBS lightweight
forged aluminum wheels, painted-to-match cast aluminum wheels,
painted brake calipers and a McIntosh stereo. It also features the
rarely seen sticker package, which contains several sponsor logos
similar to the ones that adorned the car that raced at Le Mans. The
original accessories, including the car cover are present and
included with the sale. Bill Kolb, of the famed high-performance
dealer Larsen Ford, originally bought the car brand-new; Bill was
best known as one of the top Shelby dealers of the 1960s and sold
more GT40 road cars than any other Ford dealer in 1967 and 1968.
Only 1,909 miles since new. CARFAX shows Ford Motor Company
manufacturer safety recall opened on 06/30/2016: Takata
non-desiccated phased stabilized ammonium nitrate PSAN passenger
frontal airbag inflators.
