Vehicle Description
This 1973 De Tomaso Pantera GTS Euro-Spec #5885 originally sold in
Germany on March 4, 1974, as revealed by the copy of the original
German registration document. From its original home in Germany,
this Pantera GTS would make its way to the U.S. in the mid-1980s.
This rare motorcar was sold and imported into Canada from Michigan
in September 2000 and has remained there since. Upon arrival in
Canada, this Pantera GTS Euro Specification edition was sent for
complete restoration to a qualified marquee specialist and, from
September 2000 to October 2003, this vehicle was fully restored and
sorted from stem to stern, leaving virtually no screw unturned. The
ground-up restoration was completed for nearly $100,000 dollars by
The Guild of Automotive Restorers, an incredibly well-known and
established restoration garage, and the car has been driven less
than 3,000 miles since. This stunning Pantera is presented with
47,000 original miles, extensive paperwork, and documentation
proving mileage and pedigree. It is one of 173 extremely rare
factory-built Euro-Version GTS motorcars worldwide. Powered by its
born-with, matching-numbers 351ci Cleveland V8 engine, producing
over 350hp with 441 ft/lbs of torque, and a 5-speed manual
transmission, this high-horsepower, small-bumper GTS also features
the rare factory-order fender flair delete option as documented by
De Tomaso in a letter to the previous owner. This letter also
confirms the build colors, options and original equipment. This GTS
comes complete with its original tool kit, owner's manual, original
European license plate, and complete restoration and service
records.
