Vehicle Description
This project started as a rust-free car. The body was completely
media-blasted inside and out. A roll bar, subframe connectors and
additional bracing were added. Shelby fiberglass panels were
hand-fitted, including lower brake scoops and cooling ducts. It has
all-new seam sealing, epoxy primer, and Spies Hecker paint inside
and out. The underside was sprayed with epoxy bed liner for scratch
resistance and noise-deadening. All brightwork was rechromed. The
interior was completely seam sealed, painted, and every square inch
has Dynamat. A factory-style air conditioning system was added, as
well as a modern stereo system. The custom leather interior
features a new Classic Instruments panel, all-new tinted glass and
new suede headliner. The engine is a 427ci Smeding small-block Ford
EFI crate engine mated to a new TJO 5-speed manual transmission
built for the power of this engine. It was dyno-tested at 610
horsepower and 600 ft/lbs of torque. It's equipped with
ceramic-coated exhaust, coilover front suspension with 4-link coil
suspension in the back, rack & pinon steering, 9" Ford rear and
Wilwood disc brakes. It rides on Foose wheels and BFGoodrich tires.
Restored to the absolute highest standards with superb fit and
finish, this Fastback has taken numerous awards.
