Porsche 356 replica. This 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster was built by
award-winning JPS Motorsports of Hollywood, CA (look them up) who
specialize in Porsche reproduction builds. This car is an awesome
example of the work they do.
The car is finished in Guards Red over a tan interior with a black
soft top. A signature and safety-conscious chrome roll bar
separates this car from others. Even more so, the car is powered by
a Type IV 2.0L engine with twin two barrel Weber carbs, which was
built by GemVW from a Porsche 912E motor. Most of the replica
Speedsters are powered by 1600cc VW motors, but not this one. The
2.0L 912E motor gives it a lot of power and makes in a blast to
drive, top down of course. The 4-speed manual transmission shifts
like butter. It has plenty of power when you want it and a
high-gear ratio to do highway speeds with ease.
Other noteworthy features include disc brakes, air condition,
Pioneer stereo system with 6-Disc CD changer under the bonnet,
alarm system, two sets of keys, Nardi wood steering wheel, roll
bar, soft top, full tonneau cover, battery cut off switch, and just
16k miles on the clock. The car has spent most of its life in
California before coming to Michigan in 2011. It comes with a clean
Michigan 1973 VW title - fully serviced and ready for a new
home.
Hagerty values an average #3 condition original 1957 Speedster at
$295,000. They are too expensive to be on the road, which is why
this car is a perfect consolation. You can actually drive it, and
