For sale in our Dallas Showroom is a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette
Stingray. Nicknamed the Mako Shark, the C3 Corvette went into
production in 1968. The new model featured hidden windshield
wipers, a removable rear window and T-Tops. 1970 also saw the
addition of factory fender flares. Chevrolet produced 17,316
Corvettes in 1970 which was the second lowest production year of
the C3 Corvettes (1968-1982). This Stingray is one of 1,281 built
with the rear window defroster option and was manufactured in July
of 1970 during the last month of production for the 1970 model. It
was equipped with the Turbo-Fire 350 cuibic inch motor producing
300hp, four speed manual transmission, optional 3:36 gear ratio,
posi-traction axle and tilt/telescopic steering wheel. This
Corvette was fully disassembled and restored in 2009 and features a
numbers matching drivetrain. Originally painted Donnybrooke Green,
this three-owner car now wears show quality Crystal Red Metallic
paint which is a contemporary Corvette color. There is terrific
documentation present which includes the original order sheet,
invoice, sales order, Protecto Plate, owner's manual and pouch as
well as the check and receipt for the first registration in 1970.
