1956 Oval Window Beetle, Redone but highly original car. Last owner
had it 30 plus years, was second car for a while then stored and
loved. Great car! Body and Paint Straight and clean with really
nice paint. Originally the car was Silver but the owners wife
wanted the current Red which is a Bus Color. Has a couple tiny
chips from use and some small lifting on the right driprail from
sun exposure, but overall excellent. Amazing pans and inner body.
Dry Western Body. Original fenders were changed in the 70's
sometime to 1962 fenders. Chassis, Suspension and Brakes Original
other than maintenance items, handles tight and drives very well.
Brakes work great. Original rims and caps with 2yr old Goodyear
tires. There is a matching fifth tire that comes with. Current
spare in place is possibly the original tire. Powertrain 1958 36hp
1200 CC engine is in place, original engine lost oil pressure.Oil
bath air cleaner, Bosch distributor, overhauled at some point,
starts and runs very well. Clutch trans and shifter feel nice and
tight. Does have straight cut 1st and reverse gears.Clean and well
kept. Actually quite fun to drive, hard to believe it's only 36 hp.
No major leaks. Nice. Interior and Misc Clean. Seats are new, had
our interior guy recreate a match to what we believed original.
Rubber floors, original headliner. Clean dash, Original wheel.
Original jack. Even has the original glass license plate lamp
lense. In full disclosure, Very small oil drip when sitting. 1956
is one of the most highly collectible beetles, The Iconic Oval
Window. Most have been modified extensively, here's a very close to
