Vehicle Description
This 1965 Chevrolet El Camino is one of those cars that brings a
smile to everyone's face. A practical utility vehicle based on one
of the most potent muscle cars of the era, complete with a
numbers-matching small block, cool subtle ghost flames, A/C
interior, and an upgraded four-speed overdrive transmission. And
now that you've seen the price on this restored El Camino, you
might not have enough time to finishing reading this before it's
gone.
There was a serious investment in the El Camino, and you can tell
it from the moment you see how straight the sheetmetal is. But
there's much more here than going over half a century being treated
with respect. During the restoration it was given a professional
application of its factory-correct Mist Blue, but with this modern
application also came a cool upgrade to subtle ghost flames in the
hood. Now you have the spirit of originality that's been upgraded
to a terrific clearcoat. Even the truck bed shines with a
look-at-me quality. This transformation would not be complete
without the chrome and stainless trim looking immaculate on
everything from the wide grille, to the mirror-like bumpers, to the
half-moon wheel covers.
The moment you open the door, you'll swear it's 1967, and that's
for a very good reason. The complete restoration included putting
the factory interior back to period-correct spec. The
factory-correct fawn split-bench has the kind of cushioning that
feels like no one else ever sat here before. The door panels,
carpeting, dash, and steering wheel are all in a coordinating hue.
And speaking of the wheel, the dual-spoke factory unit has an
intricate design, and it gives you a clear view to the full gauge
panel where everything works - even the clock! Keen eyes will
notice a few upgrades, like the retro-style radio that disguises a
modern digital AM/FM tuner and cassette player. And the air
conditioner is a period-correct Sears unit (cool, right?) that's
still pumping out ice-cold air.
The engine is the original, numbers-matching 327 cubic-inch V8 that
has been well-dressed for duty in the El Camino's engine bay. Satin
black inner fenders are a great background for the Chevy Orange
block and valve covers. Add in the polished air topper and all the
right decals, and it's an award-worthy presentation. The V8 inhales
deeply through a four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with
authority through the stainless dual exhaust. More than just look
tidy and powerful, this EL Camino was upgraded to be a true driver.
You have a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, power
steering, and an aluminum radiator to keep it all running cool even
when you're in traffic with the A/C pumping.
Lovers of originality will like to know that all the major
components that were replaced come with the sale, including the
wheels, radiator, Powerglide transmission, and so much more. Plus,
this very original and well restored classic comes with all the
right paperwork, including the original bill of sale, warranty
card, dealer invoice, owner's manual, title documentation, build
receipts, and maintenance records. And all this vintage
desirability is available now at quite a nice price. Don't miss
