HISTORY
The E31 is the first generation of the 8 Series, which was produced
from 1989 to 1999. The engines available consisted
of�V8�and�V12�engines.
Design of the 8 Series began in 1984, with the final design phase
and production development starting in 1986. The 8 Series debuted
at the�Frankfurt Motor Show�(IAA) in early September 1989. The 8
Series was designed to move beyond the market of the original 6
Series. The 8 Series had substantially improved performance, as
well as a far higher purchase price. The 8 Series offered the first
V-12 engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox on a road car. It was
also one of the first vehicles to be fitted with an
electronic�drive-by-wirethrottle. The 8 Series was one of BMW's
first cars, together with the�Z1, to use a�multi-link�rear axle.

shaft & replaced flex joint, power steering filter replaced/leak

LM20 3 piece wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires-front at 14k
miles & rear new, a/c� system services-new compressor clutch, all
brake pads & front rotors replaced, replaced left rear wheel
bearing, replaced rear upper control arm bushings, replaced power
steering pressure line, oil change at 101,927 miles with 5W
synthetic & every 8k miles prior.
