better than a slick '69 Mustang fastback! This Mustang however,
might be the nicest well done resto-mod that we've ever seen come
through our doors. Built by Barry's Rod Shop in Mount Airy, North
Carolina, this '69 Mustang fastback is absolutely stunning!
Imagine having the power and convenience of a '08 Shelby GT500, but
the look of a BOSS 429 all wrapped up into one. Well, this car is
it! Creating 651 rear-wheel horsepower, this blown 5.4L V8 looks
right at home in the engine bay. But, open up the doors and you'll
see a fully leather 2008 Shelby GT500 interior with every option
you could imagine including cruise control and a Bluetooth
microphone for your phone built into the rear view mirror. There's
nothing bad to say about this Mustang at all!
BODY:
You would be hard pressed to find another '69 Mustang that is this
laser straight! The black is near perfect and is just stunning!
It's a DuPont super jet black that received silver metallic racing
stripes and then layer after layer of the finest clear coat to make
it stand head and shoulders above your typical Raven Black Mustang.
The body was equipped with a new hood scoop, new spoiler, new GT
fuel cap, billet aluminum hood hinges and fog lights and then
buffed to absolute perfection.
ENGINE AND CHASSIS:
Under the slick raven black hood is a 5.4 Supercharged DOHC 32
Valve V-8 that was the recent recipient of a new Kenny Bell
Supercharger and a professional tune. Today it cranks out 651 Rear
Wheel Horsepower! At the crank it's estimated at 776hp, and not to
mention, with a simple pulley change and tune it is set up to be
able to handle way more. Mated to the engine is a Tremec TR-6060
6-speed manual transmission that supplies power to a Ford 8.8 rear
end with a 3.55 posi.Under the motor, the chassis is a new New
Schwartz Performance Tube Chassis that includes adjustable QA1
coilover shocks, 4-wheel disc brakes and a 4-link rear end. The
entire underside is detailed to the max and looks as good as the
top.
INTERIOR:
Inside, the modern Shelby theme continues as the interior was
pulled from a '08 Shelby GT500. That's right, the dash, interior,
instruments, cowl, floor pan, all the way to the back seat has been
custom built to fit in this iconic car. The front seats are brand
new racing seats that have been recovered in Leather. The radio has
been outfitted with a new Satelite/Bluetooth/ navigation/ CD Player
touch screen and the builder even went as far as to install a
microphone in the rear view mirror to operate the Bluetooth. Other
options include tinted windows, rear defogger, traction control,
cruise control, tilt wheel and a bunch more.
