Rally Preparation Services is pleased to offer for sale this very charming 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Opera Coupe classic car for sale.
In the 1930s, and of course ever since, Ford and Chevrolet battled furiously to be the number one in sales numbers. The 1939 Master sedan and coupes were right in the front line with Chevrolet making much of the six cylinder for the price of a four cylinder message and promising us that “You’ll be ahead with a Chevrolet.”
For ’39, the front grill was revised with a sharper more modern (for the time) profile and the Deluxe models were fitted with windscreen wipers and indicators. Of course, the Opera coupe has the desirable additional fold down occasional seats in the rear that you won’t find in the Business model.
This is a car Rally Preparation Services has known for some time. The experts at RPS have maintained it for the previous owner regardless of cost and so had no reservations when supplying it to the current owner. However, it has unexpectedly become available again due to a change of plans and RPS would recommend this car whole heartedly.
This is a very standard looking car and has had light and sympathetic preparation to allow use on classic rallies without further preparation. The engine was rebuilt to a preferred specification in 2015 and features pressurised lubrication but the 3-speed column change manual gearbox is retained. The fuel system has been improved with a bespoke large capacity aluminium tank with appropriate delivery pumps and filtration.
The interior trim and external brightwork on this car are in great condition and the coachwork is not done justice in the photographs.
The car is currently residing at RPS’ sister company - the SASCo storage facility and available for inspection.
