Vehicle Description
Packing a monster 390 cubic inch V8, this 1967 Ford Fairlane GTA
was one of the fastest Fords on the road in the '60s and you'd
better believe it still makes a stir today. But more than just a
big block brute, you'll marvel at the level of originality,
quality, and care that has gone into this family-friendly fast
Ford.
You're looking at the face of Ford racing in the '60, and this
coupe carries it perfectly. The factory-correct Y-code Dark Moss
Green has been given a professional respray to keep this dark
attitude at the forefront. Plus, the triple rocker stripe, GTA
badges, and 390 callouts on the hood trim are all reminders of how
the GTA took no prisoners on the streets. But it also is still a
premium Fairlane at heart. So you get the hardtop coupe body with
the bright wide bumpers and the shining grille as long as the
horizon. The premium presentation is even in the details with the
power domes on the hood also housing turn signal indicators.
Inside this one has received the right investments to look
completely original, but feel far fresher than a car celebrating
the half-century mark. Ford was creating an executive level coupe,
and so this GTA has great features like bucket seats - a rarity in
a large machine like this. In fact, while there is enough room to
carry plenty of family and friends, this will always be a machine
that focuses on the driver. That's why you have a full center
console and an artful dual-spoke steering wheel that gives you a
commanding view of the ultra-wide speedometer. In total, this
classic has such a great period-correct presentation on everything
from the AM radio that's still on display, to the big trunk with
the correct mat, jack, and spare.
We make a big deal about the 390 cubic-inch big block V8, and so
did the restorers. When you open the hood, the tidy presentation
and glossy black fender walls instantly makes your eye focus on the
bold blue block that looks like its radiating power from within the
engine bay. Plus, the polished valve covers announce the 390
displacement as does the matching air topper with GT trim. And with
all the correct decals throughout the engine bay, we could spend
all day looking at this muscle car masterpiece. But more than just
look at it, this one gets your heart racing as the V8 inhales
deeply through a four-barrel carburetor and exhales with authority
from the dual exhaust. On the road, this full package produces a
true wallop of power advertised at 335 hp. Remember the "A" in GTA
is for the automatic transmission. Ford's three-speed is great at
providing comfort during the everyday situations, and stout enough
to handle the full power when you're ready to unleash the monster
motor. And you can tell from the undercarriage photos that there
has been plenty invested in the suspension. Combine that with power
steering and front disc brakes, and this is a true vintage
executive express.
Complete with Marti report, you're looking at fast with class. This
is exceptionally presented turn-key rapid classic transit that we
know is going quickly. Don't miss this one, call today!
