Vehicle Description
A collector's item from the moment they were announced, the 2012
Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has always been a desirable coupe. Of
course it only gets better on a 6,891-mile example like this one.
That's right! We could have put more miles on this car had we just
driven it once a year from our showroom down to Orlando for some
fun! But what that really means is this Shelby Mustang is your
opportunity to own a cherished example of a nearly new muscle car,
produced by automotive royalty.
One look at the original Ingot Silver metallic paint, and you'll
know this was someone's baby. It came with the optional car cover,
and we know it was used. The level of luster will make you think
our showroom is the Ford dealer and today is 2012. Then again, at
first you'll be too busy noticing the Shelby upgrades to see how
the hard shine rolls evenly across the straight body panels. The
blacked-out grille and hood vents make for a perfect dark side to
this bright finish. And nothing goes better with these dark
elements than the optional satin black tape stripe package. In
fact, the shade of the graphite-like color they used on the alloys
(staggered 19/20 inches front/rear) make a perfect midpoint between
the silver and the black to create a very cool and coordinated
total package. More than just look good, this one is instantly
recognizable as a speedy machine. The handsome chin spoiler has
never seen the top of a curb; the full-width rear spoiler looks
like it wants to take flight; and those huge exhaust tips are pure
intimidation even when this Mustang isn't growling. And of course,
all those snake-bitten logos on the grille, fenders, and rear gas
cap are the perfect announcement about how hard you bite back.
Inside, the black bucket seats might be cowhide leather, but
they've got Shelby's trademark snake embossed in them. Averaging
less than 1,400 miles annually means little seat time, and so there
are no scuffs on the door sills, no scratches in the dash, and the
carpets still look factory fresh. You can see from the window
sticker that this one came loaded. It includes power windows, power
locks, power seats, keyless entry, cruise control, and automatic
climate control. The stereo is the AM/FM/XM/CD Shaker unit with a
touchscreen interface. It pumps out huge power, and it's still
modern enough to have Bluetooth, satellite navigation, and
interface with your iPod. And speaking of modern conveniences, you
also get the safety of dual front airbags, side airbags, and
ABS.
The 5.4-liter modular is a terrific powerplant, and 2012 is the
perfect year to pick one up. It inhaled deeper than the previous
generation, and the block was made of lighter aluminum. So when the
supercharger was added, it produced a whopping 550 horsepower. And
on something this impressive, why mess with perfection? That's why
everything looks fresh and stock on this original motor, right down
to the SVT builder tag on the valve cover. And while this one has
museum-quality low miles, we know you won't be able to resist
teaching a few Corvettes a few lessons on the streets. After all,
with the control of the six-speed manual transmission, and the grip
of the upgraded sports suspension, this retro-style Mustang is a
serious modern performance player. The total control package is
capped off with big four-wheel disc brakes (Brembos in the front)
and grippy Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
Complete with the original window sticker, SVT certificate, bill of
sale, and owner's manual, all of this paperwork is fun to review
now, and it will be exceptionally useful as this GT500 keeps
appreciating into a true classic. That's really the point of this
car in total. It's a Shelby Mustang you enjoy on sunny days and
know that there will still be admirers down the road. Call
