Vehicle Description
From Task Force beauties to venerable S-10s, Chevrolet has spent
the last hundred years consistently delivering universally
appealing trucks for purists and hot rodders alike. This clean 3100
is a great example of a solid slice of Americana that's benefitted
from solid restoration. Ready for a pickup you'll be proud to show
off? Take a close look at this awesome Chevy!
BODYWORK/TRIM
Stored in a climate-controlled private collection, this mint Chevy
has been meticulously rebuilt to preserve all the innate appeal of
GM's popular Advance Design aesthetic. The truck's expressive body
is glossed in a timeless coat of Forester Green 2-stage that,
according to the previous owner, has never seen a drop of rain. And
fresh factory trim and tasteful Cream pinstripes highlight acute
attention to detail. At the front of the truck's split-window
fuselage, a deluxe stainless grille centers stainless-trimmed
parking lamps between clean headlights and a guarded bumper. Behind
that grille, a Chevrolet-branded hood fronts fresh glass that's
founded on polished frames, polished wipers and dainty mirrors.
Those mirrors reflect Chevrolet-branded running boards under
factory handles, guarded locks and a polished fuel cap. At the back
of those boards, highly varnished rails hang vintage Sinclair
signage above highly varnished planks, which are detailed with
painted skid strips. And at the back of those strips, a "CHEVROLET"
branded tailgate reflects sleeved chains, polished lamps and a
second chrome bumper that traces bowtie-branded exhaust.
ENGINE
Hoist this pickup's domed hood and you'll find 235 cubic inches of
Thriftmaster 6-cylinder that, according to their 3837004 casting
number, "H" suffix code and C 28 7 casting date, originated in
1957. Introduced for use in large platforms, and regarded as one of
the all-time great Chevrolet powerplants, the Thriftmaster is a
favorite among vintage GM truck buyers because of its simple
design, adequate power and excellent durability. A petite Rochester
carburetor and AC-branded air cleaner combine with stainless fluid
lines and a tagged Delco-Remy generator to keep the engine clean
and functional. And items like satin fenders, a flashy
"Thriftmaster" decal and clean gray block skin tame the trustworthy
mill in to appealing eye candy.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Bottom-side, power meets the ground through a traditional Muncie
4-speed and driver friendly rear end. Correct leaf springs and drum
brakes occupy all four corners of the chassis, mixing rugged road
prowess with firm and solid stops. A single-pipe exhaust system,
which is wired to a large muffler, runs the whole length of the
truck. And everything rolls on stainless-trimmed steelies, which
turn 6.70-15 Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewalls around
red-trimmed Chevrolet hubcaps.
INTERIOR
When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a factory-fresh
cockpit that's full of utilitarian charm. A brown bench seat
complements brown door panels, a brown headliner and a black floor
mat. And a "CHEVROLET" branded steering wheel laps fully restored
gauges and a factory heater.
If you're looking for a traditional classic that mixes quality
restoration with unmatched style and unparalleled fun, this truck
deserves your full attention. It's spectacular from every angle. It
plays to nostalgia and Americana that everyone can appreciate. And
it's a highly drivable piece that actually FEELS like vintage
hardware. So, what are you waiting for? Grab the phone, park this
Chevy in your garage and get ready for years of carefree
cruising!
