Vehicle Description
The Porsche 964 is perhaps Porsche's most innovative model for
their famed air-cooled generation of cars. It was a bold departure
from the beloved Carrera of the late 80's. Porsche boldly beefed up
its performance with a newly designed 3.6 liter air cooled flat six
power plant producing 247 hp and the Carrera 4 marked the first All
Wheel Drive system integrated to the 911, this technology was
harvested from Porsche's Supercar, the famed 959. The 964 also
introduced for the first time coil spring suspension, power
steering, and ABS brakes bringing the overall performance of
Porsche's new 911 to a whole new level. The new body design
consisted of smoother bumpers, more integrated rockers and most
notably the recessed rear spoiler that would raise when speeds
reached 45 MPH all while preserving the beautiful lines of the car
while at rest.
The 1991 Porsche 911/964 Carrera 4 offered here was purchased new
at Go Porsche Audi of the great city of Grand Rapids, MI of March
28, 1991. The car came delivered in Guards Red over Black Leather
interior and optioned as follows: Draped Leather Seats Front and
Rear, Sun-Moon-Roof, Alpine Radio-CD with Amplifier, Automatic
Speed Control, Rear Wiper, Intensified Windscreen Washer, Headlamp
Washer and CO2 emissions. Since, the car has stayed local changing
hands only once until our recent acquisition. The car has always
been in the hands of PCA member owners and has a stellar service
history from new until present day with all scheduled maintenances
up to date. Along with regimented dealer service in the early
years, the car has been consistently maintained by the areas most
skilled air-cooled Porsche mechanics. As a result, at just 83899
mile, the car remains in outstanding condition cosmetically and
mechanically. The interior is excellent and shows all the signs of
consistent care and detailing. The leather sears remain supple, the
dash and all panels are excellent, the gauges remain clear,
headliner near perfect and the carpet shows less than normal wear
in the usual places. The exterior remains excellent in all areas.
The Guards Red Paint remains deep and glossy and shows all the
signs of constant care and consistent detailing. Mechanically, this
964 is awesome. It pulls strong in all gears, the clutch has great
feel, the shifting is precise, the suspension is tight and the
handling characteristics of the C4 is something that needs to be
experienced. The stance of this C4 has been upgraded with Koni
adjustable coil over shocks that have been professionally installed
and adjusted to perfection.w
Quality Air Cooled 911's are becoming more elusive but the demand
is still strong from all four corners of the globe. The car offered
here given its owner history, service history and its exceptional
overall condition is top on the list for any collector and
enthusiast. Car comes complete with its original books, stamped
service book, original keys with key pouch, original manual
portfolio, complete service history, both option stickers, tool
roll, car cover etc.
