For Sale: 1968 Ford Mustang in Merrimack, New Hampshire

Vehicle Description

SALE PENDING 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. VIN # 8T02C2192XX with clean NH title in my name. It started life as a Base model fastback with a 289 with 3spd manual (Bullit metallic green). Current odometer reading is 65,338, but it’s probably flipped and I’m still driving it so it may increase slightly. It now has a 1970 302 bored.030 over with small chamber 289 heads, mild 484 cam, roller rockers, edelbrock intake and 4bbl carb, hypo 289 exh manifolds, electronic ignition, rebuilt C4 auto w/ shift kit.

It has spent the majority of its life in Maryland and Virginia. Back in 1993-94 when it had new front frame rails, torque boxes, left outer wheel patched, two new rear quarters installed (rear marker lights never cut out) along with all the Shelby style fiberglass hood, side scoops, trunk lid, rear qtr fairings, GT fuel cap, new interior (the original hood, and trunk lid were unfortunately lost to history). That’s also when the engine and trans was overhauled too. Since then it has always been garaged and not driven in winter. It has original 8” rear-end with fresh 3.55 gears & trac-loc, super stock rear leafs, front and rear sway bars, front power disc brakes, along with newly added quick ratio borgeson steering gearbox with PS pump so it handles and stops really well for a car of this era. Newer H-pipe duals with throaty two chamber mufflers. It also had fold-down rear seat and center console installed which it didn’t originally come with.

I do have a lot of the original ext & int trim parts, emblems, steering wheel, manual pedal assy, air cleaner, OEM steel wheels, PS gearbox and pump, etc. that will go with car. For those of you that don’t recognize the wheels on it, they are the rare and sought after vintage 1970’s 14x7 mini-lite wheels made in England (not repro’s) like ones used on 1970’s Boss 302 Trans-Am series race cars. Car also comes with fresh David Keys close ratio top loader 4-spd speed and bellhousing, that I never got around to installing. The car runs, drives, stops great. It has only been driven maybe 5-6 thousand miles total since 1994 when the bodywork was completed. The car has absolutely solid with lots of new sheet metal back in 1993-94. The paint is still very presentable and shiny, but does have flex spider cracking on fiberglass hood, and has small nicks, and touchups spots. This is not an over-restored concourse show car or trailer queen that you would be afraid to drive, but it is a great turn-key driver quality car that runs/drives well and turns heads. If your looking for a concourse show car, then plan to pay two-three times the price of this car. It could easily be put back to stock configuration by replacing hood, trunk lid. and removing side shelby vents. It got new rear wheel cylinders, master cyl, distribution block/proportioning valve last year, All electrical items like lights, horn, heater, wipers, dash systems work as they should.

I have owned this car for nearly ten years and have driven less than 1600miles in that time so the tires are flat spotting from lack of use. Other flaws as shown in video include small split in driver’s seat bottom seam, split in center console vinyl covering, rear courtesy light lenses were pushed in,various small paint flaws or touchups, Previous owner had LH fender was repainted due to peeling paint, so it has very slight shade mismatch. This is the great driver quality car a flipper or pricey classic car dealer would throw a new paint job on it and ask over $45k for it. NADA Average retail value has it listed at $32,120.00.

Sold as is, No trades, Warranties, Refunds, Partial Payments, Phony Nigerian Bank Checks, Joy Rides, or B.S. Certified Funds only, buyer is responsible for pickup/shipping of car & parts. I encourage all serious buyers  to come and inspect car in person,  I'll take you for a ride weather permitting. I am willing to assist load car & spare parts, store car in my garage for few weeks until pickup if need be.
