Vehicle Description
1969 Boss 302, 1 of only 1628 1969 Boss 302s built and 1 of 1 as
originally optioned per the Elite Marti Report. Comparing this with
1970 Boss 302 production of 7013 units, the 1969 Boss 302 over 4X
more rare. The 1969 Boss 302 was available in only 4 colors,
Acapulco Blue, Calypso Coral, Wimbledon White and Bright Yellow.
This unit is one of 649 painted Bright Yellow. This late production
example, one of the very last 1969 units built was optioned with
the 15x7 Magnum 500 style wheels as opposed to the more
common/standard Argent-painted 15x7 Magnum.
Showing 77,234 original miles and sporting an fresh rotisserie
restoration in it's factory correct color, This Boss 302 is an
excellent and well-documented example that can be driven, shown and
enjoyed.
Body - The car received a show-quality repaint in its original
Bright Yellow with Matte Black Boss 302 accents. The undercarriage
is restored to factory-original specs with Red Oxide Primer,
body-color overspray and correct seam sealant and sound deadener
application. The car retains its original 1969 rear deck spoiler (a
very rare piece as it was only available on 1969 Boss 302 from the
factory). Any and all rust issues were addressed during the
restoration, the paint quality, fit and finish would be graded at
9/10.
Much of the original heavy-duty suspension including the tie rods,
HD sway bar and rear leaf springs are original and still show their
original factory paint daubs. The rear "Staggered Shock" setup
unique to high performance models including Boss 302, Boss 429 and
4-Speed 428 Cobra Jet cars is still intact.
Drivetrain - The high-revving Boss 302 power plant was completely
refurbished during the 2016-2017 restoration. The block is a D1ZE
service replacement unit. Correct Boss 302 internals, cylinder
heads and Buddy Bar Aluminum intake are all present. Fuel is
delivered via a correct, date coded Holley C9ZF-J 4150 unit.
Factory Smog system and Rev Limiter are intact. The car is shifted
by what is believed to be the original 4-Speed Toploader
Transmission with tag code RUG-E3. The correct 9" rear end case is
the heavy duty Nodular rear end "N" case and still sports it's
original Ford Identification tag. It is also believed to be the
original unit to the car.
Interior - The interior features original upholstery on the front
and rear seats. A fresh headliner, Ford Tooling dash-pad and carpet
were installed during the restoration. The car retains it's
original and rare Stereosonic Tape System (8-Track). An aftermarket
Hurst shifter was installed to replace the often underperforming
stock Ford shifter.
Provenance - The car still wears it's original Ford build "BUCK"
tag on the core-support. Original Door warranty plate is intact as
well as correct dash VIN plate. Documentation includes an Elite
Marti Report confirming this vehicle was 1 of 1 as optioned,
Original Ford Quality Control sheet found during the restoration
and original copy of the Sales Invoice.
