This Shelby was carefully restored to factory specifications during 1994-1995. Ford NOS parts were sourced to insure a high quality restoration. All the rare fiberglass panels are correct Shelby parts, not reproductions. This vehicle has the proper Ram Air-cleaner. The goal of the owner was to restore the Shelby to new condition and rebuild all mechanics so the car would be dependable and a joy to travel in.One of the most collectible Shelbys ever produced. Only 517 late convertibles were made. These cars debuted with the ferocious 428 Cobra Jet Engine, equipped with rare bore cast iron exhaust manifolds and improved carburetion and heads. This particular Shelby was one of the few with Special Order Yellow color. Factory equipment includes, Automatic, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt and Swing-A-Way steering wheel, and Deluxe interior. Radio has been up-dated with a period correct Am-FM. The 68 Shelby unique features include floor console, factory oil and ammeter gauges, padded roll bar with inertial reels for race style shoulder belts. Shelby body styling was unique for 1968 with fiberglass hood, trunk lid, lower quarter panel side scoops.History: The 68 KR convertible was built at Fords Metuchen, New Jersey plant and shipped to A.O. Smith in Inonia, Michigan, for final assembly. Fords New Jersey plant was responsible for building the chassis complete with mechanics. A.O Smith finished the 68 Shelbys installing the intake, Car Fiberglas Body panels, and Unique Shelby interior parts.
