For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Corvette in Plano, Texas

Vehicle Description

Very cool 72 Stingray. She has a great body and looks good in red. She shows off well from the front and back as she’s the last year of the “Bumper Vettes”.  She looks good with the T-Tops off and back window popped out (last year for that also). Almost a full convertible experience when wanted.

Power Steering (New pump, cylinder, control valve, and hoses)

Power Brakes (Wilwood 4 Wheel Discs)

Air Conditioning (New Vintage Air System)

Power Windows (New Switches and Motors)

Automatic TH400 (Just Rebuilt and Sealed)

Tilt / Telescoping Wheel

Engine

Strong running 350 CID. The previous owner had it dyno’d and shows it at 290 Crank HP @ 5000 RPM – 355 FT/LB TQ @3500 RPM. I have the receipt from the previous owner showing it was done with those results (I do not have the actual dyno sheet). New water pump and thermostat. HEI Tach Drive Distributor. Has Edelbrock Performer Intake and Edelbrock 1406 4 Barrell Carburetor. Oil and Filter just changed.

Transmission

TH400 Automatic 3 Speed. Transmission just pulled, completely rebuilt, re-sealed with all new seals, new fluid.  Work done in the last few weeks.

Air Conditioning

New Vintage Air Conditioning System that works very well. If AC is important to you, keep this in mind when comparing Vettes. This is right at $3000 for the system and install.

Body

Body is straight and looks very nice. She’s not perfect (but none of them are). The paint is good and shows really well.  Chrome and glass is all good.  You can see a few rivets on the front end by the headlights. The paint is great over them, but the heads do stick up slightly in those spots and can be seen in the right light.

Brakes

Wilwood Four Wheel Disc Brakes. New Rotors, Master Cylinder and Brake Lines. The Wilwood Brake Calipers are a significant upgrade to the Brake System. Parking Brake just adjusted and works great.

Interior

The Black Interior is mostly Original and she looks very good for 45 Years Old. It is the Deluxe Version, which got you Leather Seats and Woodgrain (A big upper in 72 – ha). She does have the typical wear from being that old but looks good and in my opinion gives the mojo that a 72 should have. Tilt and Telescoping Steering Wheel, Power Windows, cold AC. All gauges work great except for the Clock. It works sometimes, then quits, then doesn’t keep the right time, so I’m saying it does not work. Typical that she’s not worried about the time. They are all that way.

Tires

Has really nice Rally Wheels and Goodrich Radial Tires.

Suspension

New Trailing Arms and Mono Spring put in a few years ago. Polyurethane bushings all around.

Front End

Front End just completely rebuilt in the last few weeks with new upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower control arm bushings, etc. Alignment done after new parts put in. She is very tight and responsive.

Really nice Vette. She has the 70’s vibe with many modern upgrades to make her more enjoyable. Lots of work done - Brakes, AC, new Transmission alone are over $7000 worth of work done recently. There are many other upgrades / new parts as described. Please keep in mind all the money already put into this car when comparing to others. T-Top bags and car cover included

Possibly trade for / towards Chevelle, older Camaro, or newer Challenger.
