There were only 3,049 of these special edition cars ever made and
this is the first year/production run of the highly sought after ZR
series. This car has been touted as the next collector vehicle as
far as appreciation values go and this is as fine of an example of
one that you will find.
It is powered by the 375 horsepower, ZR specific 4 cam, 32 valve
aluminum rated V-8 coupled with the 6-speed manual transmission
with CAGS (Computer Aided Gear Selection) that automatically
short-shifts from first to fourth under light throttle. This car is
the first generation of ZR's and doesn't come with a lot of what
they do today to dial in power. There is plenty of stopping power
with the Bosch ABS II anti-lock braking and great handling once up
to speed with a hybridized Z51 suspension and the FX3 Selective
Ride Control package.
The car is painted in Artic white with a full black leather
interior that is loaded to the hilt. Power steering, dual bucket
seats, windows and door locks are all within reach along with GM's
Delco-Bose Premium Sound System. It is obviously fitted with a full
set of gauges, cruise control and a driver's side airbag. She comes
with both targa tops (one solid and one glass) to enjoy cruising on
those warm summer nights we are all dreaming about right now. The
car comes with two sets of wheels. The ones shown which are later
model Corvette wheels and brand new Nitto tires. We also have the
original rims which are brand new with the original Goodyear Eagle
Gatorback tires.
This car is absolutely flawless and original (the ZR-1 decal is
from Chevy for some "pizazz" but easily removable) with only 15,000
meticulously cared for miles. We even have the original "pizza box"
complete with personalized manuals and ZR-1 key chain. The car is
pretty much as it was when it rolled off of the showroom floor.
There are not many first year ZR-1's out there and those that are
continue to rise in price.
