Vehicle Description
This 1984 Chevrolet Silverado pickup represents a pretty unbeatable
recipe. Start with a revered mid-'80s Chevrolet pickup that's known
for its ruggedness and dependability, apply a seriously cool custom
paint job and then top it off by adding some really great
entertainment features to create a grin-inducing ride that will
draw attention whether parked or cruising the streets.
Custom paint jobs are certainly nothing new, but you definitely
don't see many like this one. Transitioning from black on the
bottom to a Candy Root Beer on top, there's a lot of detail and
nuance here that really take it to another level. Look closely in
the light at the upper sections and you'll actually see an almost
three-dimensional effect that makes the paint seem to extend way
beyond the depth of the sheet metal. The pinstriping in front is a
bit subtler than you sometimes encounter - a wise detailing choice
as there's plenty to see already. Up front, the blackout effect on
the headlight bezels contrasts really well with the chrome around
it, and toward the back you'll see a truly inspired add-on - that
distinctive "Chevrolet" lettering airbrushed onto the lighter
stripes on the rear flanks is actually a homage to Chevy's badging
of the mid-'50s that you might see on a Bel Air or 210. Everything
appears well-fitted, too - both the front and rear bumpers are
laser straight and the gaps between body panels are nice and
even.
The brown and tan leather interior you'll find inside is really
impressive - a great combination of style, comfort and
functionality. The split bench seat is plenty comfortable, matched
by a fold down armrest/storage area and a console/cupholder under
the dash with the same two-tone pattern. It's also a very
well-appointed cabin, with all the conveniences you'd want,
including air conditioning, a tilt column, cruise control, and
power locks and windows. This Silverado is also a veritable rolling
entertainment machine. There's a high-end Alpine Media Center
mounted below the dash, with a drop- down DVD player in the
headliner console and, with Polk Audio speakers mounted in the
doors and under-dash panels, everything from music to movies is
sounding great. We really like this pickup for its attention to the
driver's enjoyment as well. Climb into the driver's seat and you'll
see a Grant GT wheel that perfectly matches its surroundings, while
just beyond, a full complement of Auto Meter gauges resides in a
chrome backdrop on the dash. In back, the bed features a sturdy,
off-black liner to protect against cargo dings and scratches and
it's clearly been doing its job.
Underneath the hood, with its trance-inducing paint, sits a 305 V8
that's been freshly tuned and is running great. It's paired with a
recently rebuilt 200r4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, so
you'll keep your revs nice and low when you're on the highway and,
since the front suspension has recently been rebuilt, it'll be
smooth sailing, as well. The anti-theft system is definitely a
welcome feature, especially considering how coveted a vehicle like
this truly is. With power brakes - discs in front, as well as power
steering, this is a truck not only meant to be looked at, but to be
driven. This unique and well-configured pickup sits with a low,
decidedly custom-looking stance on a set of 15" stock Chevy truck
rims, wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion ATR radials.
