Vehicle Description
The Kaiser-Frazer corporation was started in August of 1945. A year
later the first Kaiser and Frazer branded automobiles were coming
off of the assembly line in Willow Run, Michigan. 11,000 cars were
produced this year. By 1955 there were close to 760,000 units
produced.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1954 Kaiser 4 door
Special. This car is quite rare as Kaiser only made 929 of this
model in 1954. Originally the car was sold in Colorado and then in
the late 1970's it made its way to Minnesota. The second owner
restored the car in the 1980's, rebuilt the engine and transmission
and installed a new interior and redid the chrome. The car was
parked in 1985 and sat covered in a dry storage until 2015. The
current owner has installed all new belts, hoses, fuel pump, water
pump, radiator, brakes, brake lines, heater core, gas tank and also
changed all the fluids and filters including the transmission and
the rear end. The top and rims were recently painted to dress the
car up a little bit. This an approved factory option in 1954. It
has the original 6 cylinder engine hydromatic, 226 cubic inches
with 118 horsepower. The car weighs 3,235 pounds and sold new for
$2,400. The car runs, drives and handles well. This car also comes
with factory original Kaiser keys.
