The Jeep CJ-7 featured a wheelbase 10 inches longer than that of the CJ-5 and lacked its trademark rear curve of the door cutouts. The main difference between CJ-5 and CJ-7 was the chassis which consisted of two parallel longitudinal main c-section rails. To help improve vehicle handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis stepped out to allow the springs and shock absorbers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body. The CJ-7 featured an optional new automatic all- wheeel drive system called Quadra-Trac, as well as a part-time two-speed transfer case automatic transmission. The CJ-7 came equipped with a Dana 20 transfer case and a Dana 30 front axle. We have just installed a brand new Black top with doors and brand new tires. This is a stunning example of a 1979 CJ 7 serviced and maintained with only 67,450 original miles. It has an automatic transmission, power steering power brakes, tilt wheel, WARN winch, off road tires, custom wheels and the powerful AMC 304 V8.
