Vehicle Description
This is a cool classic that's 50 years in the making. The exterior
looks like a first-year 1953 Chevrolet Corvette, but beneath the
custom bodywork is a 2003 Corvette convertible. So you get all the
iconic design lines, and it's now backed by a powerful LS1 V8,
modern suspension, and all the modern amenities you could want.
Chevrolet did make a 50th anniversary Corvette, but you know this
was really the proper way to do it. It's a 2003 convertible that
carries the design cues of the car that came a half-century before
it. These Commemorative Edition customs were hand-crafted by
Advanced Automotive Technologies (AAT) with new body panels to give
the C5 convertible a whole new attitude. They really took the time
to get the details right. The toothy chrome grille, screens over
the headlights, sweeping side trim with jet tails on the fender,
and extra long tailfins all instantly recall the first-ever
Corvette. We especially love how they incorporated the original
tailpipe design to now hold the reverse lights. A thoughtful
process like this is also expensive to get looking so good. Not too
many people were willing to pay the premium, and so this is number
29 of what is believed only 200 ever produced.
While it's retro on the outside, the inside is all about modern
performance and comfort. The black interior combines with the black
exterior and black folding roof to create an ultra-desirable
triple-black package. The leather bucket seats provide the perfect
balance of sports car bolstering and all day comfort padding. This
is especially true since both are power adjustable, so you and your
passenger can find the perfect luxury position. A proper limited
edition car like this also needs to come with all your favorite
features. It includes dual zone climate control, leather-wrapped
steering wheel, dual airbags, AM/FM/CD stereo (w/ additional CD
changer), power windows, power locks, anti-theft system, and
keyless entry. There's even the convenient windshield head up
display (HUD). Most family-sized convertibles don't even offer a
real trunk, but this custom build still retains the C5's good cargo
characteristics. So feel free to take this cool retro machine on a
weekend getaway for two.
While the first Corvettes almost died off because they were
underpowered, you'll never have that problem in this creation. The
C5 was a true leap ahead for sportscars when it received the LS1
motor. So it's great to have the original fuel-injected V8 looking
so good in this one. It's a versatile V8 that makes for easy
driving in everyday situations. But the moment you want a
performance machine, it growls to life to deliver a 350 horsepower
dominant presence on the streets. This convertible comes with a
four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering,
four-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, and a fully independent
double-wishbone suspension. It's a total package that makes this
collectable a fine companion for everything from the backroads to
the morning commute.
This special edition custom build comes with all the right pieces
to enjoy as a limited edition classic. It includes build photos, an
article on AAT, and the original window sticker. A true retro
custom like this strikes the perfect balance between modern
performance car and low-numbers classic. So when one convertible
has it all, you know you need to hurry to grab it. Call
