Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 Buick Gran Sport
sports coupe for purchase. With GM's introduction of the Pontiac
GTO trim package, the GS (Gran Sport) was Buick's way to introduce
muscle in to their established branding. The GS was based on a
Skylark Custom and available with a 350ci V8 with a 4 barrel
carburetor producing 260 horsepower. The Buick brand offered muscle
you would find in other GM A-body offerings, but with more class
that Buick was known for. The sales of the GS models were not very
high, but collectors and critics of classics count the GS as one of
the best muscle cars GM ever produced.
This GS has been professionally repainted in 2013 and presents very
well. According to the owner, all of the body filler was removed
from the car during the restoration process. In 2013 the 350-4
engine was rebuilt and given a mild cam. The transmission was also
rebuilt. The exhaust was upgraded and the car was given Dougs
headers. The car comes with a stack of receipts and an owner's
manual. The GS has power brakes, power steering, air conditioning,
spare tire, jack, white vinyl top, AM/FM radio and front bucket
seats. This car presents very well and is a blast to drive.
