The Chevelle Super Sport or SS represented Chevrolet's entry into
the muscle car wars. Early 1964-65 Chevelles had a Malibu SS badge
on the rear quarter panel. The Chevelle became a series of its own
in 1966. SS396 sport coupes and convertibles used the same Malibu
bodies with reinforced frames and revised front suspension. In
1970, an updated sheemetal design gave the bodies a more squared
stance. Engine choices ranged from a base 155 hp inline 6 to
multiple V8 options including the newly introduced 454 cid big
block rated at 360 hp. This cowl-induction 1970 Chevelle SS has a
replacement 454 powerplant that has been bored out to 468 cid and
mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and 12-bolt 3:73 rear
end. This beast is set up for go vs. show and features a new
suspension and new sheet metal in the trunk and floor pans. No one
will mess with you at stoplights guaranteed! This muscle-bound 1970
Chevelle SS is located at our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this
