For sale in our Chicago showroom is this beastly 1972 Plymouth Road
Runner. This Plymouth may look like a car, but is in-fact a vessel
for the monster that lies within. Under that unassuming body,
snarling at everything that rolls by, is a new Indy Cylinder 572
cubic-inch gen 2 Hemi crate motor. This monster-motor is rated at
800 horsepower and might as well breathe fire with every
revolution. It sends exhaust gasses through the 2 and 1/8 inch
primary tubes of the headers, near seamlessly flowing into a 3-inch
TTI exhaust that's decorated with 3-inch machine gun tips. Behind
the engine is a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission that delivers
all the goods to the Dana 60 rear end, utilizing a very comfortable
3.73 gear. This beast disguised as a car may seem like it is "all
go", but it will melt your face to the front windshield when you
hit the middle pedal and demonstrate the ability of the Wilwood
Hydroboost 4-wheel disk brakes. This combination of using all the
right parts leaves the rest up to the driver. Inside, you will open
the door and be greeted by an understated black interior. Sit down
in the driver's seat, turn the key, and beckon the beast; tap the
throttle ever so slightly and hear it roar. With the pistol grip
shifter perfectly within grasp, you're reminded of the forces that
have been awaken. Throw it in first, and get ready to ease the
clutch out... or NOT! This classic Plymouth may be titled a Road
Runner, but it will remain an asphalt destroyer. For more
