Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this Unrestored 1975
Triumph TR6 which is beautiful original condition with low "Actual"
Miles of 47,649. This TR6 has only had two owners from new
with the previous owner having the car from 1977 until we just
purchased the car in 10/2017 after he had passed. This TR6
has been meticulously cared for and maintained over his ownership
with hand written service records dating back to 1977 with mileage
accounts for each record. The mileage is "Actual" not only by the
included service records but also by the clear Ohio title showing
the mileage as "Actual." The original "Passport to Service"
is included as well from the original owner and dates from the time
she purchased the car until the second owner purchased the car in
1977 just after the 12,500 service interval. The original
owner information is hand written in the pamphlet along with the
original dealer stamp. The original dealer sticker is still
located on the rear of the car in the upper left hand corner.
The car was sold new in the Indianapolis area and never left the
general area. The original owner manual is also included
along with several receipts dating back to 1977. The oil
change service records date from 5/20/1977 until 7/12/2008 with
actual mileage stated at every oil change. Just an amazing
original document authenticating the history, mileage, and
originality of this special TR6 and rarely seen. This TR6 is
very original with just standard maintenance items being
replaced. This TR6 features all original beautiful Maple
Brown paint, a terrific original unrestored interior, the original
6 cylinder engine and 4 speed transmission, a matching hard top in
great original condition, and a host of original documents,
service records, and receipts. This TR6 is extremely solid
with great lines and gaps and shows no signs of visible rust on the
body or anywhere on the frame and underneath. This TR6 is
finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Maple
Brown (code 73) exterior over Black (code 11) interior. This
is the correct factory color scheme as indicated on the commission
plate pictured above.
Exterior
The Maple Brown exterior is in fantastic unrestored original
condition. This TR6 has never had any paint work performed
and has all original rust free body panels. The original
paint shines very well and is in excellent condition for its age
and shows very few flaws for being 42 years old. The original
ID tags in the engine bay are factory correct and solid proof of
original paint. This TR6 is very solid and no visible signs
of rust were found.
The original floor pans and frame rails are rust free. The
underside is very honest and in excellent shape. We did not
touch up anything underneath this car or use any spray paint in
anyway anywhere on this car. The included service record
booklet shows the car was rust proofed at 27,341 miles. The
original bumpers are in excellent condition and the overrides
are in excellent condition as well. The bumpers have no
pitting or dents and no major scratches and shine extremely well
for being unrestored originals. There may be some minor
imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was
intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have good
tread left and are sized 205/70/15 and the wheels are unrestored
originals with original correct trim rings that are in excellent
condition. The original top is in near perfect condition for
its age. It has the correct ribbon around the edges, correct
diamond pattern on the inside of the top, and correct stampings on
the windows. The top cover is in excellent condition as well
and it also comes with a toneau cover that is like new. This
TR6 is extra special as it comes with a matching hard top that is
in great unrestored original condition as well and comes with the
car. All weather stripping and seals are in good condition
but are originals. Trunk is very solid and clean with the
original trunk mat, spare tire, and original jack and tools.
All glass is "Triplex" original glass and all are in excellent
shape.
Interior
The Black interior of this TR6 is in super nice unrestored original
condition. The original seat covers are in overall good
condition but there is a tear in the bottom inside drivers seat
bolster. The original seat foams have flattened on the sides
but the seats are still firm and comfortable. The original
black carpets are in excellent condition with no major stains,
rips, or holes. They have the correct snaps on the bottom
sides of the carpet. The original door panels are in great
condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The
original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading
and the wood dash surround is in great condition as well.
Amazingly the vent surrounds still have the original chrome ring in
tact. A rarely seen feature usually only seen on low mile
original cars like this one. The original steering wheel
looks great in the car. The gauges are crisp and clean and
the chrome around them are in excellent shape. The interior
lights all work and are bright and crisp. All interior and exterior
lights and gauges work as they should, outside of the volt
gauge. The horn is currently not working. This TR6 has
an original style stereo that seems to work but both speakers are
blown and need replaced. This car has not been smoked in;
there is no aroma what so ever. The glovebox light works and
the original TR6 manual is located inside.
Mechanical
This TR6 is in nice mechanical condition and it runs and drives
well. The engine appears to be original and we were told by
his widow that it was never removed from the car and was always
reliable. It is very factory correct and appears unmolested
as is the rest of the car. The smog pump and lines are
original and the emissions appear all in tact and original.
We have driven this TR6 sparingly as we just received it and we are
trying to keep the miles to a minimum as its a low mile original
car. This TR6 is tight with no odd noises or rattles as you
would expect from a low mile original car. It performs very
well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to
drive. The previous owner of this fantastic TR6 kept a
meticulous service log of this car and drove it sparingly with
great care and love. The detailed service records are
included with the car and date back to 1977 when he purchased the
car and go until 2008, and for some reason end there at 46,828
miles. Car was only driven about 800 miles in the last 9
years. In the video one can observe this car running and
driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles
and performs very well. It starts right away every time, idles
well, and runs great. This TR6 starts quickly and holds idle
within a few moments of having the choke on. The brakes do
not pull and stop very well. This TR6 appears to have an
original style muffler and exhaust system. Also, the engine
is very clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the
photos. The engine appears factory correct and stock in
appearance and unmolested.
