Vehicle Description
Presenting here, a really gorgeous example of a Silver Wraith II.
Finished in Porcelain white with a dark blue "Everflex" vinyl top
and matching fine lines to the waist-rails. The interior has rich
handsome matching deep blue Connolly hides with contrasting pale
blue Wilton wool carpets. These are over-layed with factory
lambs-wool moutons. The same light blue carpet theme carries
through to the boot. The Silver Wraith II is the long wheel base
version of the Silver Shadow II. Easily identified by the same rear
window (opera window) and standard fitment Everflex vinyl top, it
is 4" longer in the rear door. This provides a noticeable increase
in rear passenger space. This particular example of a Wraith II has
been subject to a high cost restoration in the last 10 years.
Completely repainted in its original colour at a cost of some
$20,000 is testament to the level of detail and attention she was
afforded. This included a new top and the fitment of expensive Avon
Turbosteel tyres all round - simply the best tyre for Shadow II
($2,000+ for a set). This is an unmolested example that has been
nicely maintained and presents in excellent condition. It is very
original in presentation, clearly garaged most of its ownership and
a "dry" example. As a result, it has been freed from the perils of
harsh weather and is very clean underneath. It has all the
hallmarks of a well maintained example with considerable evidence
by way of the use of factory Rolls-Royce parts in its years of
servicing. It comes with its original manual and tool kits of
course. The car has been work-shop inspected where all work needed
is carried out. Important costly items such as the hydraulics and
brakes are fully inspected and serviced as required. This includes
checking of all brake hoses and system pressure tested and bled.
Brakes pumps have been rebuilt, new accumulators fitted, calipers
and pads serviced. It is ready to drive and enjoy. The odometer
shows a low 53,000 and although this is not verifiable, the mileage
is commensurate with the condition (particularly when you look at
the condition of the interior, under-hood, brake pedal etc). It is
very quiet and smooth on the road without any of the typical
"thumps" and "rattles" typical of lesser maintained examples of
this model. The interior looks close to perfect. The deep blue
leather is in absolutely outstanding condition with no tears nor
fading and true to its Connolly characteristics, being soft and
supple. The leather really has been lovingly preserved. Often you
see the front seats feeling hard and "card-board-ish" but not this
example (please see photos of what I like to call; the "leather
scrunch test" showing how soft the front seat leather is). The burr
walnut wood throughout the car is in good condition and in fact;
entirely original, which is further testament to its cosseted
ownership. Although not perfect with a few nicks and imperfections
in the clear coat (mainly limited to the driver door where the seat
belt buckle clips), we believe its originality and well-presenting
condition outweighs the desire to have them refinished. The back
door wood, for example, is almost perfect. The head lining is
original and in excellent condition. The original Wilton wool
carpets with leather binding are in good condition. Likewise is the
dash and top-roll. The boot (trunk) carpet with the same theme
appears is also in good condition. The body on this Wraith II is
very straight and the paint is shiny and lustrous. As mentioned,
she was repainted some 10 years ago and was a very high quality
job. When you look down the sides of the car, they are very
straight and true. The paint presents beautifully with only very
minimal marks and blemishes which suggests the car has had only
minimal use over the last few years. Certainly, the paint needs
nothing other than a wax from time to time. The car is of very high
standard and is an easy 10 out of 10 driver rating.
