For Sale: 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Street/Strip in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

Fully-built speed machines like this should not be this affordable. So if you've looked at the motor on this 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Street/Strip, we already know you're hooked.

Before we dive into the beastly V8 of this Barracuda, let's appreciate the first impression this car gives off. The pillarless hardtop is a staple of muscle car style. Plus, on the 1967 models we see the first hints at the iconic styling touches that would be exaggerated for the '70s 'Cudas - like the power bulge in the hood and the speedy line of the rear fenders. Actually, the fastback model outsold the hardtop coupes like this one in 1967, so there's even a rarity factor here. But above all, this Barracuda announces its speedy intentions from the first moment you see it thanks to the Orange Crush paint. Plus, the matte black on the hood and side hockey stripes are what Mopar muscle dreams are made of. And while this has some nice factory brightwork on places like the wraparound chrome bumpers, your favorite polished pieces will undoubtedly be the iconic Cragar SS wheels. After all, they instantly draw your attention to the aggressive stance.

Inside, the all black interior is crisp and complete. And we like the little touches like how the lettering in the floor mats coordinates with the exterior orange. It shows there has been some investment here, which makes it easy to get right down to speedy business. The wood-rimmed Grant sports steering easily fits in your left hand, and your right one may never want to leave the sports shifter. Ahead of you are two large AutoMeter Pro-Comp readouts for the speedo and tach, and to the side is an auxiliary gauge trio. This crisp and clean presentation lets you know there's something special under the hood even before you twist the key and hear it roar.

The engine bay looks slick with clean walls, tidy wires, and that cool diamond plate firewall. It's the perfect way to showcase the beast within. You're looking at a 408 cubic-inch stroker motor nicely dressed with polished components, Edelbrock valve covers, and a matching air topper. And it not only looks powerful, but this V8 was also fortified to truly live up to its appearance. It starts with a magnafluxed block that was built with a full Eagle 4340 forged rotating assembly. It also includes Performer RPC cylinder heads, three-angle valve job, ARP bolts, Comp Cams hydraulic cam & lifters, and Comp Cams Pro Magnum rocker arms. There's plenty more to this build, so call for all the details. It inhales deeply with a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. And the motor exhales with serious authority out of long tube headers that feed the dual exhaust. Best of all, you have complete control over this monster V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. From there the power is sent to the stout Mosler rear axle. And it gets to the ground via a limited slip rear end running a 4.10 gear for the best in power take-offs. And keeping all of this power in check are disc brakes up front and wide Mickey Thompson ET Street radials in the rear.

Serious power... serious presence... and a seriously affordable price. This is an amazing Mopar that you're going to have to act quickly if you want to take it home. Call today!!!
