SOLD-SOLD-SOLD By 1990,Nissan issued the 'Z32' in a brand new design. Offered in the US 1990-1992, the body was wider with a rounded profile and few hard edges showing. The Twin Turbo Z32's featured active rear wheel steering systems (HICAS) which was first introduced in the Nissan Skyline models. The new 300Zx's carried the 3-litre Engine now with dual camshafts and variable valve timing. The Standard issue produced horsepower rated at 222 hp while the Turbo version was upgared with a Garrett Turbocharger that kicked horsepower up to 300 and 283 ft of torque. Performance was stellar with 0-60 times of 5.0- 6 sec (depending on the source). Top Speed was 155mph. American Z-car sales reached a total of one million sales making it the Best Selling Sports Car at the time. Nissan utilized the Cray-2 super computer to design the new 300ZX with a form of CAD software making it the first production car to utilize this tool. They even offered on the Twin Turbo models a 4 wheel steering option under the name Super HICAS (high capacity Activity Controlled steering) but few were sold. Options were: Climate Control A.C. w/ Improved Flow Direction, Drivers Airbag Optional,CD Player Option w/ Bose Stereo Head Unit (Upgraded), Nissan Logo on Front Panel, Hardtop Coupe Available Mid-Year, FloorMats changed from '300ZX' to "Z" Silver Thread, Illuminated Keyhole on Drivers Door and interior Lights, A 3-Speed Automatic was Optional.
