1954 Corvette
A stunning second year production Corvette of which only 3,640 were produced at the new St. Louis facility. Known as a C1 or the “solid axle generation” sales of the new Corvette fell short of expectations in the beginning nearly ending production altogether.
This beauty is a past recipient of the NCRS Top Flight Award, and showing less than 37 thousand pampered miles from new you can understand why. Available in only four colors, this example, finished in Polo white with mandatory red sportsman vinyl interior and beige canvas convertible top, is adorned with show quality chrome and stainless trim. In 1954 all Corvettes were equipped with the same options including, full instrumentation, AM radio, clock, driver’s side adjustable seat and trunk storage bags for the removable door windows. Motivation for these cars was Chevrolets famous Blue Flame 235 cubic inch six cylinder engine with factory installed chrome appearance package, three side draft Carter carburetors and dual exhaust producing 150 horse power, 2 speed powerglide automatic floor shift transmission and solid axle differential with 3:55:1 gear ratio. The tires are Firestone Deluxe Champion 6:70-15 wide white wall with original full spinner wheel covers, and sporting the same tire on the spare with complete original jack assembly in the trunk.
