Vehicle Description
Offered here is one of the cleanest and most original Mercedes SL's
we've ever had the privilege to bring to market. 1989 marked the
final year for the 560SL and this one is all original (except for
the radio), has 44k original miles, has been family owned since
new, and comes with ALL of the original purchase documents,
including the bill of sale, buyers guide, and window sticker.
Original paperwork, not copies.
According to the bill of sale, on April 19, 1989, our client's
father purchased this vehicle brand new (only 14 miles on the
clock) from Acme Motors, Inc of Traverse City, Michigan. The out
the door price was $58,752. The window sticker states the car was
optioned out to $65,780, so he knew how to work a deal. Still, to
buy a new car in 1989 for almost $60k, you were doing well. In
2003, he sold the car to his son who has owned it since and always
kept up on the maintenance. They lived in Colorado for a period of
time, which is why it has Colorado plates and title, before moving
back to Michigan earlier this year. In August of 2017, the car had
a complete tune-up by Lakeside Automotive in Traverse City, with
the cooling, vacuum, fuel, and ignition systems all being gone
through. It is turn key ready and now ready for a new home.
This car was originally imported through Baltimore and then prepped
in Chicago before making its way to Acme Motors in TC. The car is
finished in the factory original Smoke Silver Metallic (code 702)
over Burgundy Leather (code 277) interior with a Black Soft Top
(code 740). Some noteworthy features power steering, cruise
control, power windows, power radio antenna, 4-wheel disc brakes,
first aid kit, and more. It comes with both soft and hard tops,
tools, books, manuals, and ALL the original paperwork. The radio
has been replaced but the original is in the box seen in the
pictures.
These cars are becoming more and more collectible. A family-owned,
two-owner SL like this with 44k original miles and all paperwork is
a great value, especially at the price offered here. Call or e-mail
if interested, or to make a reasonable offer. Thank you for
looking.
