Vehicle Description
1960 Porsche 356B Super-90 Sunroof Coupe
In late 1959 significant styling and technical refinements gave
rise to the 356 B (a T5 body type). It was similar to a 356A T2
body but had a different nose, higher mounted bumpers and a
different rear lower shirt. The transmission was changed from a 716
to a 741, which was much smoother to shift. The rear window, front
hood and fuel tank remained the same as the 356A.
This 356 Super-90 Sunroof Coupe was special ordered by Hans Trul
with an manual sliding sunroof, Super-90 engine, deluxe horn ring
and side body molding. The original Kardex shows Hans as the 1st
owner, who purchased this 356 new from the Porsche factory and took
delivery March 31, 1960. Hans's 356 has been featured in many of
his famous photographs, making this 356 Sunroof Coupe a very
significant and important Porsche.
Hans Trul was one of the most outstanding press and star
photographers of his time. Trul is known worldwide and especially
for his unique winter shots. Trul was a good friend of Ferdinand
Porsche and therefore Hans Trul incorporated classic Porsches into
some of his photographs.
