Vehicle Description
This superb-driving Austin-Healey is in outstanding rust-free
condition. It received the full "Wheeler Dealers" treatment as the
star of an upcoming episode of the hit series. As such, the
thorough mechanical and cosmetic refresh work will be immortalized
forever. Classified as the BJ8, this model was the most powerful
and luxurious of the big Healeys. It features walnut-veneer dash,
wind-up windows and 150hp engine. The original 2.9-liter inline-6
engine and 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive runs and
drives smoothly. Improvements to the engine include a fully
upgraded triple Weber carburetor kit and a bespoke side exhaust
system, designed and fabricated by television host Ant Anstead.
Together these give this classic big Healey the rich full sound it
deserves. The brightwork is outstanding and the brand-new red
leather interior is fantastic. The spotless engine bay and
undercarriage are proof the previous owners loved and took
meticulous care of the car. This matching-numbers beauty includes
the original owner's driver handbook with a note signed by Donald
Healey himself.
