Vehicle Description
The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1962 Plymouth Fury for sale.
The word "fury" denotes a type of anger, inspired by the Furies,
mythological creatures in Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman
mythology. This car has been owned for the last 21 years and part
of that time was an 8 year build. The engine and transmission was
rebuilt about 9 years ago. Other notable details are a new gas
tank, full polyliner between each rear leafsprings, oak laminated
arm rest, oak laminated upper and lower dash center. There are
restoration photos on file for this Fury. 1962 Plymouths measured
seven inches shorter and up to 400 pounds lighter than the 1961s.
Part of that weight-savings came from a switch to full unibody
construction, without the front sub frame of 1960-1961, which made
for uncommonly tight, solid cars better able to exploit the fine
handling of Chrysler's torsion-bar front suspension. The Fury range
continued to offer the sedan, hardtops, convertible and wagons, and
the new Sport Fury line was reintroduced, now with only a two-door
hardtop and a convertible. The smallest engine was the slant-six
and could be picked with the 318 ci V8 with 230-hp all the way up
to the wild 413 ci with 420-hp and dual four barrels sitting on a
short-ram engine. It's easy to see that Sport Furys could be
ferocious performers with these Max Wedge V-8s. Options include:
Hub caps, heat, radial tires, seatbelts. To view the car in greater
