Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is honored to be the consignment
showroom within the GCC network to sell this absolutely astounding
1968 Dodge Charger, built in the pro street style by Muscle Car
Restorations in Wisconsin. They're a well-known shop, particularly
for Mopars. Starting with a rust-free California car purchased in
2001, the car was sent to the Midwest for its transformation, which
MCR completed after six years and 2800 hours! All of the latest
hardware was used to make this Charger one of the nicest (and
nastiest) modified Mopars ever built. This '68 has been featured in
several magazines and has even made an appearance at the Playboy
Mansion.Under the hood lurks some serious power with a Mopar 528
crate Hemi engine that has been modified with Keith Black
components. Transmitting all 640 ponies (650 ft lbs torque) to the
narrowed, Detroit Locker-equipped 9" rear axle is a Tremec 5-speed
transmission with gears selected by a modified original Hurst
Pistol Grip shifter. Putting the power to the ground is a one-off
set of Boyd's custom wheels. One of the trick features on this
muscular Dodge, among countless mods done on the car, is the toggle
switch hidden under the LH part of the steering column. Flipped one
direction, the horn is activated, flip it the other way, you've got
Line-locks! This car also has 4 wheel Wilwood brakes, 5 point seat
belts, trunk mounted fuel cell, custom dash with built in shift
light and much more. To duplicate this car today would cost in
excess of $250,000-plus. This baby's ready to rock and has had all
of the bugs worked out. It runs, shifts, handles, brakes, and
performs like a new car. You'll love this car! Rememer, yesterday's
thinkers are todays buyers. To see 100-plus pictures and a video of
