For Sale: 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air in Concord, California

Vehicle Description

Description from the owner:
"Here is the history as I know it:
The car was originally purchased some time in 1957 by the original owner (a Pacheco resident) from Parker Robb Chevrolet in Walnut Creek. In 1968 my friend and drag racing buddy Dewayne (last name withheld) had a paper route and the 57's owner was one of his customers. Dewayne being a young boy full of piss and vinegar thought it was funny to toss the morning news on the hood, deck lid or roof of the 57. When the owner of the 57 had enough, he called Dewayne's father to complain about the mischievousness. In those days dads didn't take this kind of malarkey lightly so, Dewayne was taken by his father to the customers house, marched to the door and told to apologize to the customer. When the apologies had been given and accepted, hands were shaken and the conversation turned to the 57.
Dewayne's father, already the proud owner of a 1961 red and white four speed 327 corvette and a Chevy man, asked if the super clean original owner Bel Air might be for sale. After some haggling a deal was struck and the 57 was now a part of the family. Fast foreword to 2013-14 after Dewayne's fathers passing it now became a possibility for Dewayne to purchase the car from his fathers estate. Success, he was able (with the help of a close friend) to finally have the 57 for his own.
Now comes the sad part of the story. Sometime in 2016 Dewayne passed away suddenly at the vacation home of his close friend that had helped him purchase the car. Shortly there after I was able to purchase the 57.
Upholstery is good, Original tube radio still works great, heater fan works (core bypassed), wipers work, all gauges work, manual windows glide up and down great, doors close with no alignment issues, chrome and stainless good. The body and paint shows a wonderful patina that cannot be faked. The paint shines even though being rubbed through from over 50 years of being waxed and cared for.
283 engine with power pack heads and a four barrel carb runs great. Powerglide automatic transmission shifts great. Runs and drives good."
Excellent car with perfect patina.Original paint with some early touchups. Only rust I can find is in the bottom of the passenger fender. Very solid and original floors, trunk, frame, etc. Interior has a mix of original and new items that keeps the vintage vibe going. Excellent car.
