Vehicle Description
The Chevelle was a mid-size model that was produced over a few
generations starting in 1964. The second generation is arguably the
most popular and featured a distinctly sculpted "coke bottle" body
with tapered fenders and a rear quarter kick up. A variety of
engines were on offer but the most potent and powerful being the
454cid V8 in the SS. The 1972 model year SS came with a new net
rating of 270hp although it wasn't that big of a real power drop
from previous years.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very clean 1972 Chevelle
SS. The vaunted 454 badge means big power and big presence, and
this one doesn't disappoint. With a recent professionally finished
paint job in metallic brown with twin black racing stripes, this
car looks nicer than when it left the factory. All of the trim and
brightwork is in similarly excellent condition. The interior is
likewise in excellent shape, with a clean uncracked dash and rip
and stain free seats. The 454cid V8 is mated to a rebuilt Turbo350
automatic transmission. The engine sounds beefy and healthy and it
drives very well. In addition to the trans rebuilt, the
differential was also rebuilt. A 10 bolt Posi rear end with 3.07
gears brings up the rear. The car is also equipped with power front
disc brakes, power steering, and a working heater.
A gorgeous car that looks and drives well is in a nice sweet spot
between fully restored and all original and is ready to go to a new
home today!
